Biodiesel Fuel
Biodiesel fuel has become a successful alternative to traditional fuel types around the world. The world energy market has become a significantly different place because of the addition of viable fuel alternatives. Thanks to bio fuels, we can count on a renewable resource to help keep fuel costs down and competition at healthy levels within the fuel industry. We are also doing our earth great justice by avoiding the complete depletion of some of its precious resources. This type of fuel has seen its production grow by leaps and bounds. It is actually enjoying a rapid growth of approximately 40 percent per year.
Instead of drilling into the earth’s surface as is done for petroleum based fossil fuels, biodiesel is produced from plants and other organic materials and products. Because of this organic base, this type of fuel can be produced just about any place there is tillable land. This, paired with the fact that a large variety of plants can be used directly helps keep production costs down because it does not require specific types of land areas. This also helps support the use of crop rotation which helps keep farmlands fresh and prevents the leaching of too many vital nutrients for future crops. The most common sources of oils used in the production of biodiesel are soy and rapeseed. Not only that though, some facilities also use certain animal fats, palm oil and coffee grounds. One of the best elements about this type of production is that some of these sources include used items, and reusing items consistently ranks among the tops ways to save the environment.
